A recent study by an international research consortium investigates the effects of Isofistularin-3 – with significant results. For the first time, Florean at al. (2016) present the bromotyrosine derivative as DNMT inhibitor in their study. It is worth emphasizing that Isofistularin-3 inhibits forming of dangerous tumor tissue and at the same time, the healthy blood cells (PBMCs) remain unaffected. Besides, the authors did not reveal toxic effects. This increases the likelihood that Isofistularin-3 might be introduced as a methyltransferase inhibitor with reduced side effects.

At the annual idea competition “Schicke Ideen (Smart Ideas)” of the start-up network SAXEED, the team BromMarin is happy to present a 2nd place within the “scientists” category. Overall, 47 ideas where handed in within the two categories and the best where allowed to pitch their ideas live in Chemnitz for 3 minutes and to answer the following jury questions.

From 17th to 18th December, Europe’s top marine biotechnology experts met in Kiel at the GEOMAR-Biotech symposium to evaluate the potential of marine bioresources.
